Client : Hitachi Rail
Connected Asset
Is a SaaS B2B project creating an AI predictive maintenance platform for rail infrastructure.
My Role
I was a leading UX UI designer in Mobility accelerator team at Hitachi. Mobility accelerator is a social innovation business in Hitachi Europe.
I have full responsibility for user research and product design of a AI powered predictive maintenance dashboard and a remote inspection mobile app.

Solution
The goal was to improve decision making, and taking action for prioritising maintenance work.

We focused on contract terms, criticality and degradation, in order to understand asset importance.

We want our user to spend 5 minutes to gain enough insight before the morning meeting or during the meeting as a ritual.

On this Asset health overview a user can see the asset's degradation history and prediction. This grey zone on the graph shows the potential uncertainty of the asset health that the network owner has to keep in their mind. We can calculate it based on how many times our model is wrong.

On the bottom right, 'Show relevant maintenance plan' feature helps the user plan the inspection or maintenance efficiently. Those visualised relevant maintenance plans defined by skills, distance, critical estimate. The users can start to brainstorm to compound plans and reduce the contractor's work hours.
